Abstract Algebra by John A. Beachy, William D. Blair

About this book :-
This text contains many of the definitions and theorems from the area of mathematics generally called abstract algebra. It is intended for undergraduate students taking an abstract algebra class at the junior/senior level, as well as for students taking their first graduate algebra course. It presents abstract algebra concepts in a clear, example-driven manner, introducing abstract ideas only after a careful study of important examples. The book emphasizes developing proof-writing skills and includes numerous exercises to reinforce learning. The fourth edition adds a new chapter on advanced group theory topics, including nilpotent groups, semidirect products, and applications to geometry. Supplementary materials, such as a study guide and additional problems, are available online to support students and instructors.

About Author :-
The author John Allen Beachy is Professor Emeritus of Mathematical Sciences, Distinguished Teaching Professor at Department of Mathematical Sciences, Northern Illinois University. He completed his Ph.D. from Indiana University in 1967. His research studies noncommutative rings, from the point of view of their categories of modules. He was introduced to this point of view by my doctoral advisor, Goro Azumaya. Some of has work has been to extend notions in the category of modules over a ring to the category subgenerated by a particular module.
