Integral Calculus Free Books

"Integral calculus" is a branch of infinitesimal calculus focused on the theory and applications of "integrals". It deals with "integration", a powerful tool used in science, engineering, and mathematics to calculate lengths, areas, volumes, and central points. Integration is the reverse process of differentiation, and the result obtained is called an "integral". The foundations of integral calculus and the fundamental theorem of calculus were developed through the work of Archimedes, Descartes, Leibniz, Barrow, and Newton in the 17th century. Integral and differential calculus are closely connected through the fundamental theorem, which shows that definite integrals can be evaluated using antiderivatives. While differential calculus studies rates of change, integral calculus focuses on the area under curves and finding antiderivatives. For further study, we invite you to explore recommended books on integral calculus.

DEFINITE INTEGRAL: A "definite integral" has upper and lower limits and represents the "area under a curve" between two points, "a" and "b". Here, "a" is the *lower limit* and "b" is the "upper limit", forming the "interval of integration" ([a, b]). A definite integral is also called a "Riemann integral" when defined on the real line. INDEFINITE INTEGRAL: An "indefinite integral" has no limits and represents a family of functions, also known as "antiderivatives". It is the reverse process of differentiation.
