Differential calculus is a sub-branch of infinitesimal calculus based on the study of the rates at which quantities change. It is an essential component for the careers of engineers, physicians and accountants. In differential calculus, the derivative equation is used to describe the rate of change of a function whereas in integral calculus the area under a curve is studied. One of the main uses of differential calculus is in finding the minimum or maximum value of a given function, known collectively as extrema, are the largest and smallest value of the function. Differential calculus involves finding the derivative and differential. The derivative of a function at a particular value will give the rate of change of the function near that value. A derivative is used to measure the slope of a tangent to the graph of a function. The process of finding a derivative is called differentiation.

Calculus is one of the most important fields of Mathematics. Calculus is a study of rates of change and motion, which we can see by the slope of a line or a curve. There are two major branches of calculus, Differential and Integral calculus, and they are inverses of each other. Integral calculus is used to find the areas under a curve, surface area or volume, and linear distance travel. Differential calculus (which concerns the derivative) mostly goes over the problem of finding the rate of change that is instantaneous, for example, the speed , velocity or an acceleration of an object. Differentiation is especially important in natural sciences, engineering and technology. Differential calculus as a branch of mathematics thanks to which it is possible to solve problems related to the change of variables. Its main objective of study is the derivative.
