Algebra is one of the oldest branches in the history of mathematics that deals with number theory, geometry, and analysis. Its the study of mathematical symbols and rules for manipulating those symbols. Those symbols (written as Latin and Greek letters) represent quantities without fixed values, known as variables and in algebra, equations describe relationships between variables. Its famous branchs are Elementary Algebra, Advanced Algebra, Abstract Algebra, Linear Algebra and Commutative Algebra.

Some of the main topics coming under algebra include Basics of algebra, exponents, simplification of algebraic expressions, polynomials, quadratic equations, etc. Algebra is fundamental not only to mathematics but to the natural sciences, computer science, statistics, economics, and business. Algebra helps us to solve the mathematical equations and allows us to derive unknown quantities, like the bank interest, proportions and percentages. The algebraic formulas are used in our daily lives to find the distance and volume of containers and figure out the sales prices as and when needed. Algebra is constructive in stating a mathematical equation and relationship by using letters or other symbols representing the entities. The unknown quantities in the equation can be solved through algebra. Elementary Algebra : Elementary algebra, branch of mathematics that deals with the general properties of numbers and the relations between them (quadratic, higher polynomial, exponential, logarithmic, root, rational, and absolute value functions and how to solve them). It is typically taught to secondary school students and builds on their understanding of arithmetic. Intermediate Algebra : Intermediate Algebra is quadratic, higher polynomial, exponential, logarithmic, root, rational, and absolute value functions and how to solve them. Elementary Algebra and Arithmetic : Elementary algebra, branch of mathematics that deals with the general properties of numbers and the relations between them Where as arithmetic deals with specified numbers, algebra introduces quantities without fixed values, known as variables.
