About the Author: Sidney A. Morris
The author Sidney A. Morris
(born 1947) is an Australian mathematicians. He graduated with a BSc(Hons) from the University of Queensland and a year later received a PhD from Flinders University. He was employed by many famous universities, include the University of Queensland, the University of Adelaide, the University of Florida, the University of New South Wales, the University of Wales (through the UK Science Research Council), La Trobe University, Tulane University, Tel-Aviv University, the University of New England, the University of Wollongong, the University of South Australia, and the University of Ballarat. He held many position in these universities, including Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, Reader, Professor, Research Professor, Head of Department, Head of School, Dean, Chief Academic Officer, Chief Executive Officer, Chair of Academic Board, Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Vice-President, and for some periods, Acting Vice-Chancellor and President. He received the Lester R. Ford Award from the Mathematical Association of America. He also received an Outstanding Service award from the Australian Computer Society. He has published five books, including an online book used in 100 countries and translated into Arabic, Chinese, Greek, Korean, Persian, Russian, Spanish, and Turkish and more than 150 research papers.
