About Author :-
The author Syed Muhammad Yusuf , Ph.D., Professor of Mathematics at the Hazara University, Mansehra, Pakistan, who works in the area of history of mathematics. Syed Muhammad Yousuf was born in July, 1946, in a vellage of of district Mansehra. His father Ghulam Haider worked in the land and revenue department. He received his early education from Mansehra and Abbottabad. He did his Masters degree from the University of Peshawar in 1969 securing a University gold medal and receiving the President of Pakistan's Award. He lcompleted his PhD from the University of St. Andrews, UK under the supervision of Professor Edmund Robertson. He joined Gomal University, Dera Ismail Khan, as a faculty member in 1975, and went on to become the chairman of the department, and served in that position for over 15 years.
